Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper: Rainwater Training Program for landscape professionals doing work in Marin, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties

Rainwater is a valuable resource that when collected and stored, can be used as an alternative water source helping offset the demand on existing water systems, such as wells, and municipal water.  Water is a precious resource in California and rainwater catchment is one strategy that can help protect this resource.  The purpose of this training is to introduce landscape installers and other water system professionals to the basics of rainwater catchment system design and installation.

 The list of topics covered in the 2023 QWEL Rainwater curriculum include:

  1. Introduction to Rainwater Catchment
  2. Codes, Permits, and Accreditations
  3. System Planning
  4. Fill System
  5. Water Storage
  6. Distribution Systems
  7. System Maintenance

There will be a local field trip on 2/28/2022
