The QWEL training will be facilitated in-person by one of our highly rated QWEL certified instructors and is available to professionals living or conducting work in East Bay Municipal Utility District's service area - Alameda and Contra Costa County.

Attendees can download the QWEL Reference Manual for free here or purchase a paperback copy from Amazon here prior to the class.
In order to obtain QWEL certification, individuals must complete an overhead spray irrigation system audit (held in-person in Alameda and Contra Costa County; students can choose 1 session to attend on either March 19th and 20th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.) and pass the QWEL exam. The QWEL exam will be administered online on March 25th & 26th, and students will be required to pay an exam fee (approximately $30).

Those who earn their QWEL certification will be listed as a Certified Professional on the QWEL and U.S. EPA WaterSense websites. |

INSTRUCTOR: Lori Palmquist
Lori is an irrigation specialist who has worked in the landscape trade for 35 years. She is an irrigation designer, consultant, and educator, and a former irrigation contractor and water manager. She has designed, installed, assessed, repaired, upgraded, and managed hundreds of irrigation systems over the years, and brings a boatload of passion and irrigation geekery to all her professional endeavors.
IRRIGATION AUDIT INSTRUCTOR: Christopher Reamer
Since the launch of his independent eco-landscape contracting firm in 2011, Christopher Reamer has worked extensively throughout California at the cutting edge of landscape water conservation. Awarded the "Water Awareness of the Year” award in 2013 from the City of Santa Rosa for extensive work with the development of greywater, rainwater and high-efficiency irrigation systems, Chris has instructed over 40 landscape water conservation trainings in both English and Spanish, installed over 60 greywater irrigation systems and numerous water efficient landscapes for diverse clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
